Section 1. That the following budget containing an estimate of receipts and expenditures is adopted as the Budget and Appropriation Ordinance of Wheaton Sanitary District for the Fiscal Year beginning May 1, 2024 and ending April 30, 2025.

(Chicago, Illinois)-Govermnent Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to Wheaton Sanitary District for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ended April 30, 2022.

Wheaton Sanitary District is not affiliated with third-party payment websites like DOXO. The only online payment portal utilized by the District is Green Pay. This is important to note to avoid any confusion or issues with payment, as using unauthorized payment portals may result in payment not being received by the District.

Northside Interceptor Sewer Replacement Project

Wheaton Sanitary District (WSD) owns and operates three separate interceptor sewers which collect wastewater from local sewer systems and convey wastewater to the District’s Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). Local sewer systems are owned by the City of Wheaton, Village of Carol Stream, and Wheaton Sanitary District. The three interceptors include the Southside Interceptor (SSI), Northside Interceptor (NSI), and County Farm Road Interceptor (a.k.a. Northwest Interceptor).

Wheaton Sanitary District to Receive Over $2.6 Million in Funding for Secondary Clarifier Upgrades 

Congressman Sean Casten (IL-06) and the Wheaton Sanitary District are proud to announce $2,655,400 in federal funding for Secondary Clarifier Upgrades that will include the installation of new mixed liquor piping, a new splitter structure, replacement of all clarifier mechanisms and components, and modifications to the sludge conveyance system to allow for increased return flows. These improvements will make sure our waterways remain clean. 

“After an extremely competitive project submission process and many months spent advocating tirelessly for our community, I am proud to deliver over $2.6 million in Community Project Funding for the Wheaton Sanitary District,” said Rep. Casten. “I am proud to have fought for funding that will make our community healthier, safer, stronger, and even more resilient. This is democracy in action.”

“Clean streams, rivers, and waterways are important to every community and Wheaton Sanitary District takes pride is being able to support this in the communities we serve,” said Matthew Larson, Executive Director of Wheaton Sanitary District. “The Community Project Funding Rep.
