- 2005 - Second Place - USEPA National Clean Water Act Recognition Award Medium Sized Advanced Plants for Operations and Maintenance Excellence.
- 2004 - National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) Gold Performance Award.
- 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, and 2005, the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) Silver Performance Award.
- 2009, 2007, 2005, 2001, 2000, and 1998, the Conservation Foundation's DuPage River Clean Water Award.
- 2003 and 1988, Illinois Association of Water Pollution Control Operators Best Operated Group I Class A Plant of the Year Award. The plant was nominated by IEPA staff. The award recognizes exceptional and efficient operation of the wastewater treatment plant. Plant Superintendent, Steve Bollweg, accepted the award on behalf of the District. The award was based on an on-site inspection of plant operations by IEPA personnel out of Springfield, laboratory operations, reports, equipment maintenance, and our safety program.
