Wheaton Sanitary District, a municipal corporation, was established in January 1925 under the Sanitary District Act of 1917. The District operates a 8.9 million gallon per day (mgd) wastewater treatment plant which has received numerous local and national awards. The District provides wastewater treatment for portions of the City of Wheaton, Village of Carol Stream, Village of Glen Ellyn, Village of Winfield, and unincorporated areas of DuPage County. The District owns and maintains a collection sewer system for portions of the service area. The District serves a population of approximately 63,000 residents, and the normal operating budget is about $6 million a year.

Part Time Night Watchman

Wheaton Sanitary District has an opening for a part-time night watchman. Responsibilities include patrolling and monitoring the treatment plant facilities on nights and weekends. Basic familiarity with site security, machinery, and computers is required. On-site training on basic aspects of plant operation will be provided, and successful completion of training is required. Night watchmen report to the Plant Superintendent. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license, have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED, and able to lift 30 lbs to waist height.
